Palace keeper completes Manchester United loan move

Jack Butland has completed his loan move to Manchester United for the rest of the season.

The keeper made 17 appearances in all competitions for the Eagles after joining from Stoke in 2020.

A deal for Butland to join United was on the table in the summer, but he broke his hand in a pre-season friendly against the Red Devils.

The 29-year-old’s deal at Selhurst Park expires at the end of this season, but Palace do have the option to extend for another season.

After completing his move to Old Trafford, Butland said: “This is an amazing club and one that I am now proud to represent.

“I’m really looking forward to working with an unbelievable goalkeeping group, supporting each other every day to create the best training and playing environment for the team.

“I’ve played against David de Gea and represented England alongside Tom Heaton – they are top-class ‘keepers. I am relishing the opportunity to compete alongside and support them as team-mates.

“There is a lot that this group can achieve this season and I’m excited to play my part in helping everyone to reach these ambitions.”
