AFC Wimbledon complete first January window signing
AFC Wimbledon have completed their first signing of the January window after they announced that Sam Pearson had joined on a six-month loan deal until the end of the season.
The Dons signed Pearson after Ryley Towler was recalled by City, with the young defender set to join League One side Portsmouth on a permanent deal.
Pearson, 21, has made five senior appearances for City’s first team. He was on loan with Yeovil Town for the first half of the season, making 11 appearances and scoring two goals in the National League.
The winger has previously had loan spells with Bath City, Weymouth and Inverness Caledonian Thistle.
Wimbledon have also recalled Zach Robinson from Dundee after Kyle Hudlin was recalled by Huddersfield Town.
Paris Maghoma has also been recalled by Brentford, with the Bees keen to test the 21-year-old at a higher level. However, the midfielder missed the previous three outings through injury.
Speaking with the club’s official YouTube channel, Pearson said: “I can’t wait to get started and be involved in the team.
“I heard the club had been watching me for a while. I want to help the boys to push on further and hopefully get into the play-offs.”
