Charlton boss responds to question over loan link to Blackburn Rovers’ Tayo Edun
Charlton manager Dean Holden has batted away a question about the club’s interest in signing Blackburn’s Tayo Edun on loan.
The Addicks are close to signing the 24-year-old Londoner, born in Islington, until the end of their League One campaign.
Edun started on the books of Fulham but an impressive spell at Lincoln City, after leaving the Whites, earned him a switch to Blackburn in August 2021.
Holden was asked about the link after his side’s 3-0 EFL Cup quarter-final defeat to Manchester United last night. He said: “I’ve not seen it. Can you imagine me taking my focus away from prepararing for Manchester United? That’s negligible, that’s a sackable offence.
“All my focus was on this game and when I wake up in the morning I’ll be doing that for Barnsley.
“We’re in the market for good players, trying to come out of the window with a better squad than we went into it. It’s slightly unbalanced. I’m not going to sit here and talk about what positions or how many we’re going to bring in.”
