Exclusive: George Long and Bart Bialkowski sign new contracts

Goalkeepers George Long and Bartosz Bialkowski have both signed new contracts at Millwall.

The Lions are working tirelessly to add to their attacking options during the January transfer window but in the meantime have agreed extensions with two players who were set to be out of contract in the summer.

The South London Press understands that the duo’s new terms will be announced soon.

Bartosz Bialkowski celebrates a win and a clean sheet

Long, 29, displaced Bialkowski as number one in September and has started 16 of the last 17 Championship matches – only dropping out for the 3-0 win over Rotherham due to his partner going into labour.

Bialkowski, who turns 36 in July, has won the club’s Player of the Year award twice – back to back in 2020 and 2021.

The ex-Ipswich player was an ever-present in the previous two campaigns. Bialkowski has made 154 appearances for the Lions and won the Championship Golden Glove award in the 2019-20 season.

Connal Trueman has also extended his deal until the end of the season. He had only arrived on a short-term contract.
