Millwall defender’s withdrawal could just be a minor issue – not ruling him out of Cardiff City match
Millwall manager Gary Rowett is hoping that Jake Cooper’s withdrawal against Middlesbrough on Saturday is just a minor issue.
The Lions centre-back came off in the 55th minute in the 1-0 defeat, being replaced by George Saville.
Millwall have a full week of training to build up to Saturday’s Championship match at Cardiff City.
“Coops has got a dead glute, he landed on it,” Rowett told the South London Press. “It was a bit like a dead leg, essentially.
“Hutchy (Shaun Hutchinson] felt his groin this morning, so neither of them have trained this morning (Monday). We’re hoping, fingers crossed, they aren’t anything too sinister.
“Sometimes after a weekend someone will miss a couple of days of training but usually they are alright on Thursday. That’s kind of the hope.”
Winger Tyler Burey is sidelined with a hip problem.
“Tyler will probably be out for another three or four weeks, I imagine,” said Rowett.
