Ex-Dons midfielder Maghoma: ‘It was a no-brainer to join Milton Keynes’

Paris Maghoma says that it was a no-brainer for him to join Milton Keynes once he became aware of their interest.

The 21-year-old had been on a season-long loan with AFC Wimbledon in League Two.

However, his parent club Brentford cut the spell short at the start of January under the guise he would continue his rehab from an ankle injury with the Premier League side.

Ex-Spurs youngster Maghoma made 24 appearances during his time at Plough Lane under Johnnie Jackson.

“For me, coming to a big club like this, it’s a good test for me and a good challenge,” said Maghoma.

“I’m sure it will be a good experience for me also.

“The step I wanted to take was to come to a club that plays football and tries to move [the ball] forward.

“When Milton Keynes came to me, it was a no-brainer.

“There was interest from other clubs, but this was always the eye-catching one for me. It was always going to be Milton Keynes.”

Milton Keynes are 19th in League One.

“Playing six months in League Two and now making the step up to League One, it’s going to be a different experience,” added Maghoma.

“It’s going to be harder – you’re going to be competing with better players and playing with better players.

“It’s going to be a big challenge, but I’m looking forward to it.”
