Crystal Palace January transfer target sent off in Stuttgart draw

Crystal Palace January transfer target Naouirou Ahamada was sent off last night in Stuttgart’s 2-2 draw with Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga.

The 20-year-old Frenchman started the game for Bruno Labbadia’s side, playing on the left of a three-man midfield.

It was reported on Monday that the Eagles were in negotiations with the German outfit over a deal to bring Ahamada to Selhurst Park permanently.

Ahamada picked up his first assist of the season before half time, setting up Serhou Guirass in the 45th minute.

The former Juventus academy player then bagged his second assist of the evening, playing through Wataru Endo in the 78th minute to give Stuggart the lead.

But the Palace target was issued with his second yellow card and was sent off after his side took the lead due to excessive celebrations.

Ex-Leicester City attacker Andrej Kramaric scored in second-half added time to deny Stuttgart all three points.

Speaking before the game, Stuttgart sporting director Fabian Wohlgemuth said on Naouirou Ahamada: “There is no agreement with any club. The player has also not approached us with the request that he wants to leave.”
