Burton Albion loan switch for Charlton Athletic wideman

Charlton Athletic winger Charlie Kirk has joined Burton Albion on loan.

The 25-year-old links up once again with goalkeeper Craig MacGillivray, who signed for the Brewers earlier in the transfer window.

“Charlie is a versatile attacking player, and he’s a good age with loads of experience,” said Burton boss Dino Maamria.

“We’ve got him to the end of the season – he’ll bring us energy and quality in the attacking third and we’re delighted to get him in.”

Kirk added: “I’m really made up to get this over the line because I want to get my head down and play some football.

“I spoke to the gaffer and he outlined what he wanted from me, what I would want from him, and I’m delighted to get it all done.

“I know what I can do, hopefully the fans do too. I want to get goals and assists and get us up the table.”

Charlton manager Dean Holden said: “Charlie has had a bit of a stop-start time at Charlton.

“He hasn’t been in the squad in recent weeks and it benefits him and the club that he goes out on loan and plays games, scores goals and gets assists. We’ll continue to keep tabs on him and in the summer can look to reassess at that stage.”
