Fulham boss handed touchline ban for Sunderland FA Cup replay
Fulham will be without boss Marco Silva on the touchline for their FA Cup fourth-round replay away at Sunderland on Wednesday.
The Portuguese manager was handed his fourth yellow card of the season during his side’s 0-0 draw with west London rivals on Friday in the Premier League.
Silva, who has also been brandished with a yellow card in games against Arsenal, West Ham and Newcastle this season, was booked by referee Stuart Attwell at Stamford Bridge in the 84th minute.
Tony Mowbary’s side secured a replay after a 1-1 draw at Craven Cottage. Silva will be watching from the Stadium of Light from the stands.
Speaking after the draw at Stamford Bridge, Silva said: “We understood perfectly the strategy to the match. That ambition, that desire, that togetherness, that quality in some moments.
“We went eye to eye with Chelsea in a derby that’s really special for our fans. They did it. I’m so proud of them.
“Amazing intensity. I said at half-time we need to keep that intensity. Our start of the game was so good, so intense. A team who are clear about what they’re doing. We have real belief in ourselves.”
