QPR boss calls for unity after derby defeat to Millwall deepens Loftus Road gloom
Neil Critchley has called for a united front as QPR’s Championship slump continued after a 2-1 defeat to Millwall at Loftus Road today.
New signing Chris Martin headed a late goal to cut the deficit after Duncan Watmore and Oliver Burke had both netted for the Lions, who are in the play-off places.
QPR have not won in eight league fixtures, drawing five of them.
“It’s a results business and we have to accept responsibility for the results we’re picking up at the moment, which aren’t good enough,” said Critchley to QPR’s official website. “It’s clear we need to do better but I saw a team today fighting on the pitch right until the end and the supporters stayed with us all the way.
“We have to stick together and go again on Tuesday night.
“The result is disappointing. I didn’t think we deserved to be 1-0 down at half-time, we were the better team in the first half.
“The second goal was a really poor goal to concede and that left us chasing the game.
“We showed a good response to that, got it back to 2-1 and could easily have equalised at the end.
“But if we give away the types of goals that we did today, it makes it difficult to win any game in this division.”
