Charlton boss has positive update on Coventry City loanee

Charlton Athletic loanee Todd Kane has stepped up his return from a hamstring injury.

The 29-year-old full-back came off on his debut, a 2-0 win over Barnsley, in the middle of January.

Kane signed on loan for the Addicks from Championship club Coventry City earlier in the transfer window.

Addicks boss Dean Holden told the South London Press that the player had been handed some positive news after a recent scan on the injured area.

“The scan was what we wanted to see on that follow-up results,” said Holden. “Toddy is back out doing some light jogging with the physios on the grass pitch. That’s a positive – that he’s moving on schedule.

“Manny Egbo (out with a quad injury since November) will do a little bit with the team today, in that he’ll do the warm-up and a little bit of a passing exercise – but no more than that. That’s a nice little re-introduction after being out so long. It’s a tick in the box for Manny but he’s still some period of time away before he comes back into the fold.

“Sean Clare is managing something he’s had for a while now but got through the whole game the other night, which was a positive.”

Miles Leaburn has also been a recent absentee with a slight hip niggle.
