‘I’ve got to be careful’ – Charlton Athletic boss makes Miles Leaburn admission
Charlton Athletic manager Dean Holden is mindful of not overloading Miles Leaburn’s minutes despite facing depleted frontline options for tonight’s League One game at Peterborough United.
Leaburn returned from a hip problem to start in Saturday’s 1-0 defeat to Sheffield Wednesday.
The former Chelsea youngster needed treatment in the second period before making way in the 75th minute for Macauley Bonne.
Charlton will be without Chuks Aneke (hamstring) for the fixture at the Posh.
Asked about whether Leaburn can start again tonight and then also the fixture at high-flying Plymouth on Saturday, Holden told the South London Press: “That’s obviously a conversation with the support staff, the sports science and physios.
“Miles is such a young player, we forget that. It’s his first season in senior football and I’ve got to be careful – he’s been out for a period of weeks now.
“He came in and played 70-odd minutes on Saturday. That’s a call for us as staff whether he goes from the start tomorrow (Tuesday) or whether he comes from the bench.”
