L&Q breaks ground at Greenwich Peninsula for another 476 homes
Housing association L&Q has started construction work on two adjacent plots at Greenwich Peninsula, which promises to deliver 476 new homes.
L&Q’s chief executive Fiona Fletcher-Smith and executive group director Vicky Savage broke ground on Tuesday, at the Greenwich site.
The event was attended by senior politicians and officers from the Greater London Authority (GLA) and Greenwich council.
The two plots are situated opposite St Mary Magdalene School and will see seven buildings of up to 30 storeys aiming to be completed in 2027.
The first residents will be moving in a year before, in 2026, and the first homes to become available will be priced at London Affordable Rent.
Ms Savage said: “We are very excited to soon start work on another plot on the Greenwich Peninsula masterplan, working closely with our partners at the GLA and with the support of Greenwich council.
“Building new homes is a core part of our social mission, and these 476 new homes re-emphasise our commitment to tackling the housing crisis.
“Our focus is on building beautiful places and safe homes across our pipeline nationwide and we are very excited to bring that to the Peninsula.”
