‘Tough test’ – Wycombe boss looks ahead to Charlton trip
Wycombe Wanderers boss Matt Bloomfield has praised the job Dean Holden is doing with Charlton Athletic – and expects Saturday’s clash to be a ‘tough test’ for his play-off chasing side.
The Chairboys head to The Valley eighth in League One and four points off the top six. Dean Holden’s Addicks sit 11th in the table and are unbeaten in their last three outings.
These two sides played out a 1-1 draw at Adams Park in August, with Jesurun Rak-Sakyi’s equaliser cancelling out Anis Mehmeti’s opener.
“Dean Holden is doing a good job there, and he’s getting good results with them,” said Bloomfield, as quoted by Bucks Free Press.
“They’re a good team as they pass the ball really well, but we’re excited with what we can bring to the Valley.
“They’ve had an inconsistent season, but they have performed well in recent games.
“Charlton have got a lot of young players in their squad with pace, and they like to dominate the ball, so we know it’ll be a tough test.
“So we need to keep up with what we’ve done in recent weeks. We’re ready for Charlton and we’re happy with how we trained and we’re happy with how we performed against Barnsley last weekend too.
“But it’s also about results too, and we need to be getting the results that match the performances.”
