Bus crashes into front garden in Streatham

It was red and it arrived at someone’s home, but it was a day late – and it was a double-decker bus, not Santa’s sleigh.

A double-decker bus crashed into a garden in Streatham Vale on Boxing Day at 9pm.

The 118 bus, which goes from Morden station to Brixton, collided with a car before coming to a stop.

A spokeswoman for London ambulance service said: “We were called to reports of a bus colliding with a car and a house and we sent numerous resources. Three people were treated at the scene for minor injuries; one person was taken to hospital by ambulance.”

People have tweeted images of the scene, where the bus crashed through a fence and into the garden of the house. The road was later cordoned off in both directions.

TfL say they are working with the operator Go Ahead to urgently investigate the circumstances.
