Charlton’s impressive front three earn praise from Dean Holden after 3-2 win over Port Vale

Dean Holden was left praising the quality of his youthful front three after Charlton’s 3-2 win over Port Vale today.

Tyreece Campbell and Miles Leaburn – both 19 – were on the scoresheet for the Addicks.

And Palace loanee Jes Rak-Sakyi, only 20, also netted his 15th goal of the season and 10th assist.

Striker Leaburn is on 13 goals in all competions, 12 of those in League One.

“It was really important that we got a win, to give the supporters something to cheer about,” said Holden. “We’ve gone through a lot of pain this season, but we’ve had some good times as well.

“Tyreece and Jes have really helped each other. They have become really close off the pitch.

“Every time we speak to an opposition manager after the game they talk about our front three whether that was Corey (Blackett-Taylor), earlier in the season, Miles and Jes. Now TC has been added to that conversation – I just loving watching him play. When he lands on the ball he is gaining more and more confidence. The outcome is not always what we want, but he is so young.

“The potential of Tyreece and Miles is huge. They have a huge ceiling to go as far as they want in the game.

“Miles has got himself a goal. He gets a rough deal at times from centre-backs but he is learning all the time.

“Fair play to Jes for coming out and playing men’s football. It’s been a great season for him. I said to him after the game that I’ve been so lucky I got to work with him for four months. He is such an incredible person and one hell of a player as well.”
