18-month-old baby and mother taken to hospital after hit and run

A woman and her 18-month-old baby were taken to hospital a hit and run yesterday.

Police were called at around 3pm yesterday to reports of a motorbike collision involving two pedestrians on Eltham Hill, Eltham.

When officers arrived at the scene they found a 29-year-old woman and an 18-month-old child. 

The child, who was in a buggy, was injured in the collision. 

They were both taken to hospital by the London Ambulance Service. Their injuries were not life-threatening. 

The rider did not stop at the scene, and enquiries remain ongoing to identify and locate them.

Cordons and closures were in place shortly after the incident but have now been lifted. 

Detectives are appealing for witnesses of the collision.
