Attacker on the loose after man in late 40s stabbed 

A man was taken to hospital with stab injuries last night.

Police were called by the London Ambulance Service at around 8.30pm to Bentham Road, Thamesmead following reports of a man suffering from stab wounds.

Officers attended the scene. The man was taken to hospital where his condition was assessed as not life-threatening.

A crime scene remains in place. 

At this stage no arrests have been made in connection to the stabbing.
