Fulham DOF ‘very positive’ that Marco Silva will stay on at Craven Cottage despite Tottenham and West Ham links

Fulham vice-chairman and director of football Tony Khan hopes that Marco Silva will continue with the west Londoners for a “very long time” with the Portuguese manager leading the club to a top-10 finish in the Premier League this season.”

The Cottagers, on 52 points, could beat their record points tally (53) in the top flight if they win at Manchester United in the final game of the season on Sunday.

Silva has been linked with moves to Tottenham and West Ham in recent weeks, with Fulham reportedly in talks with the 45-year-old over extending his stay at Craven Cottage.

Former Everton and Hull boss Silva has been nominated alongside Mikel Arteta, Roberto De Zerbi, Unai Emery, Pep Guardiola and Eddie Howe for the Premier League Manager of the Season award.

“I have so much praise for Marco,” said Khan in an interview with The Athletic. “So much great stuff has happened since he came here.

“We have a coach who likes being at Fulham. The players like the coach, the coach likes the players. And for me, personally, it has been the most fun I have had.

“It has all come together for a really special moment and I am very positive about Marco [staying].

“He is very happy at Fulham, and all of us are very happy with him. We want that to continue, hopefully for a very long time.”
