Charlton Athletic ready to listen to offers for goalkeeper this summer

Charlton Athletic are open to offers for Jojo Wollacott this summer.

The 26-year-old keeper lost his number one spot to Ashley Maynard-Brewer in the second half of the 2022-23 campaign.

Wollacott wants to play regular football to help retain his place in Ghana’s international squad. The Addicks would be perfectly happy to retain the former Swindon Town man but equally will listen to any acceptable approaches.

The 26-year-old signed from Swindon at the start of July – following then boss Ben Garner to SE7.

And Wollacott was a virtual ever-present under the ex-Crystal Palace first-team coach before breaking his finger in the warm-up at Burton Albion in November.

That setback cruelly saw the stopper denied the chance to play for his country at the World Cup. Wollacott did still travel out to meet up with the squad – a show of respect for the role he played in their qualifying campaign – but then did not make a first-team return until February.

By that point Dean Holden had replaced Garner as Charlton manager and Ashley Maynard-Brewer, who had been sidelined with a shoulder problem, was the number one.

Wollacott did not make another appearance before the season finished and Maynard-Brewer signed a contract extension until at least the summer of 2026.

Wollacott still has two years to run on his own deal.
