Off-duty cop has wrist and teeth broken in Charing Cross station attack

An off-duty police officer had his teeth and wrist broken after he was attacked by a group of people at Charing Cross station.

At around 6am on Sunday May 7, the officer was sat on a bench waiting for a northbound Northern line Tube service.

He was then approached by four men who attacked him and stole his phone and his bag containing a laptop and a set of keys.

As a result of the attack, the officer suffered a broken wrist, a perforated ear drum and two broken teeth.

A boy aged 16 and a man aged 19 have been arrested on suspicion of assault with intent to rob and released on conditional bail pending further enquiries. 

Detectives have released CCTV images of a man they believe may have information that could help their investigation.
