Charlton keeper completes Hibs transfer

Charlton Athletic goalkeeper Joe Wollacott has joined Scottish Premiership side Hibernian on a permanent move.

The 26-year-old goalkeeper signed for Charlton in June 2022 under Ben Garner and made 16 appearances for the Addicks.

Ashley Maynard-Brewer, 23, has become the regular first choice between the sticks at The Valley under Dean Holden.

Hibs will be competing in the Europa Conference League next season.

Our paper understands that the Addicks are looking to bring in a new keeper.

Manager Dean Holden said: “Jojo was very unfortunate with the timing of his finger injury last season. He wants to be playing football regularly and ultimately winning back that starting jersey for Ghana.

“Since I’ve come in Ashley Maynard-Brewer has been excellent, so Jojo wasn’t going to get the games he wanted and needed here.

“The move works well for him and gives us an opportunity to freshen up our goalkeeping options. We wish him well.”
