Belvedere Boxing Club’s Bobby Wallace wins light-heavy division at Haringey Box Cup

Belvedere Boxing Club light-heavyweight Bobby Wallace has won the Haringey Box Cup.

The Welling-based boxer beat Charlie Stephens (Guildford Boxing Club) via stoppage in the third round.

Wallace’s trainer Damola Ojo said: “To win another major competition and beat the very experienced and hard-hitting Irish international in the final just shows the level Bobby is currently operating at We have no doubts that Bobby will go all the way.

Wallace also won the 80kg England Boxing National Youth Development title in 2022.  He defeated Divine Udoma from Derry ABC in the semi final with a second round stoppage and then defeated Dylan Moore (Sheffield Boxing Club) in the final.

Belvedere’s Joan Babalola won the 60kg title at the same event.

Babalola defeated Erin Dilks-Taylor (Goole ABC) in the semi-final via decision and then inflicted a second-round stoppage on Tierney Backland (Weedon ABC).
