South Social Film Festival to host Latin American Film Festival
Come together for a celebration of Latin culture with two jam-packed days of Latin film, dance and food.
South Social Film Festival (SSFF) will host its fifth edition of the Latin American Film Festival on August 12 and 13 at Castle Square in Elephant and Castle.
This festival of Latin American culture, will showcase independent cinema, dance performances, music, and great food.
The festival will feature Latin American short films, focusing on diversity, cultures, and shining a light on the Latino community.
Two Audience Awards will be presented on the closing night.
A pop-up cinema will be set up in the middle of the square with a lineup of Latinx bands and dance workshops.
Castle Square hosts an array of authentic food stalls that will be keeping the crowds fed throughout the day.
El Guambra, a family run restaurant specialising in traditional Ecuadorian dishes, will be offering delicious meals.
Hornados (roasted pork), strip steak, Llapingacho (potato patties) and rice as well as menestra (Ecuadorian bean stew) or caldo de manguera (a pork, tripe, and black pudding stew) all appear on their homemade menu.
