Police say missing Fiona Holm may have come to “serious harm”

Police investigating the disappearance of a 48-year-old woman now believe she may have come to “serious harm”.

Fiona Holm was reported missing on June 29 after last having been seen in Verdant Lane, Catford on the evening of June 20.

New footage of her has been released by cops as they continue to appeal for information.

Police previously released an image of Ms Holm in an off-licence. Footage released today was captured later that same evening.

Ms Holm is wearing different clothing in the later footage. This is thought to be a green top, with dark coloured leggings or trousers, possibly with Converse-style trainers.

Officers are very keen to establish where Ms Holm was going that evening and what her movements were on leaving Verdant Lane.

On July 13, Carl Cooper, 65, of Broadfield Road, Catford, was charged with the murder of Ms Holm as well as the the 2022 murder of Naomi Hunte.

Ms Hunte was found dead after police were called to an address in Congleton Grove, Woolwich at around 8.30am on February 14, 2022.

A post-mortem examination took place on February 16 at Greenwich mortuary and gave cause of death as a stab wound.

Cooper was originally arrested on February 18, 2022, on suspicion of Ms Hunte’s murder and subsequently bailed pending further enquiries, before being released under investigation. Cooper was not on bail at the time of Ms Holm’s disappearance.

Cooper is known to both women.

Detective Chief Inspector Kate Blackburn, who is leading the investigation, said: “After a missing person investigation failed to locate Ms Holm, our enquiries have led us to believe that she had come to serious harm.

“Part of our ongoing investigation is piecing together a timeline of her movements in the days leading up to and including June 20 when she was last seen alive.

“Ms Holm was known to be a friendly woman who would take the time to speak with local people.

“She has been a familiar face in the Lewisham and Blackheath area.

“If you live in, or travelled through, the Verdant Lane area of Catford on June 20, and have not already spoken to the police, do you have either doorbell or dash-cam footage that might include images of Ms Holm?

“If you saw, spoke to, or have information concerning Ms Holm please get in touch. No matter how insignificant your information might seem, please share it with us.

“Fiona’s family and friends are in limbo, unable to grieve and desperate to know what happened to her. My thoughts remain with them as I urge anyone with information to please get in touch.”

If you saw Fiona or have information concerning her disappearance, call 101 or Tweet @MetCC quoting 22MIS023317.

To remain anonymous call the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

The Met’s Directorate of Professional Standards has been informed as is routine following the death of someone subject to a missing person investigation.
