Crystal Palace take on Championship side in EFL Cup second round draw

Crystal Palace will head to Championship side Plymouth for their second round EFL Cup tie.

The Eagles were knocked out of the competition at the third round stage last season, losing to eventual finalists Newcastle on penalties.

Roy Hodgson’s side kick off their Premier League campaign this weekend at newly-promoted Sheffield United.

Plymouth beat Huddersfield 3-1 in the first game back in the Championship after winning League One last season.

The Pilgrims beat League One side Leyton Orient to set up the clash against Palace.

The two sides last met in 2010 when the South Londoners won 1-0 thanks to a strike from Victor Moses.

The tie is set to take place in the week commencing August 28.
