Marco Silva confirms Fulham are closing on defensive signing
Fulham boss Marco Silva has confirmed that the club are closing in on the signing of Timothy Castagne from Leicester City.
The 27-year-old is reportedly set to sign a four-year deal at Craven Cottage and was available after the Foxes were relegated to the Championship last season.
Castagne joined Leicester in 2020 and has made 112 appearances at the King Power.
The Belgian international will compete alongside Kenny Tete and Antonee Robinson in the full-back roles.
“It’s not 100 per cent done, but it’s almost done,” Silva said in his pre-Tottenham Hotspur EFL Cup clash press conference.
“When this happens, I can speak about him.
“He was one of my first targets when I started to play something for the season.
“We have Kenny Tete and Antonee Robinson – we are really happy with both. But we need a right-back.
“If we can get a right-back with the quality of Timothy and his experience and versatility, it will be very good and give us many solutions in terms of positions in the game.
“He’s a very good player and a player I believe will be a great addition for us.”
