Charlton midfielder Jack Payne to make MK loan move

Charlton Athletic midfielder Jack Payne is joining Milton Keynes on loan.

The 28-year-old, who was signed on a free transfer from Swindon Town last summer, is out of contract at the start of July.

Payne has scored seven goals in 54 appearances for the Addicks.

We had reported earlier in the week that Charlton were intent on moving on players to free up space on their wagebill, with Charlie Kirk and Conor McGrandles also likely to depart before Friday’s 11pm deadline.

The Addicks would also happily part with Diallang Jaiyesimi, but there had been little interest in the winger earlier in the week.

Payne had other League One and League Two interest.
