Man charged with trespassing on site near Buckingham Palace

A man has been charged with trespassing on a protected site after he was arrested in the Royal Mews area next to Buckingham Palace.

Awad Rovalino, 25, of no fixed address, was arrested at around 1.30am on Saturday.

Officers at Buckingham Palace responded to a report of a person climbing the wall and entering the Royal Mews, the Met said.

Mr Rovalino is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Monday, he has also been charged with attempted theft from a car during the same incident.

He was remanded in custody to appear at the same court on September 25.
