Addicks boss Lee Bowyer revealed what he said to earn a sending-off at AFC Wimbledon

Lee Bowyer revealed what he said to referee Chris Kavanagh that earned him his red card at AFC Wimbledon.

The Addicks boss was sent off two minutes into the second-period of the 2-1 win at Kingsmeadow and was forced to watch the remainder of the game from the stands.

“First-half they got a lot of soft fouls,” explained the Addicks boss.

“Chris Solly got fouled along the touchline and I said “that’s a foul”. He was like no, no but then said to Chris Solly afterwards that it was a foul.

“So, give the foul. I said to him “it’s a joke, you gave four of them to them in the first-half”. So, he gave me a yellow. So, I said “well done”.

“Then he gave me another yellow. I don’t know. It’s up to them. It makes no difference to me. The three points are the most important thing. But it’s wrong.”
