Millwall boss Harris set to make changes for tonight’s game against Hull City

BY JAKE SANDERS

Neil Harris has taken full responsibility for Millwall’s 3-1 loss against Preston North End on Saturday.

The Lions chief made just one change from the side that won at Derby County four days earlier, starting Tom Elliott in place of Shane Ferguson and switching back to a 4-4-2.

But with the team trailing 3-0, Elliott was taken off at the break for Steve Morison, while Northern Ireland international Ferguson replaced FA Cup hero Murray Wallace.

Harris revealed he is likely to make changes for tonight’s meeting with Hull City – their third game in six days. Harris said. “Obviously, I have to think about not just the physical aspects of it, but the disappointing performance of some of the players.

“What I will say is, that’s three defeats in 13 games and the majority of players have played quite a lot of football to a good standard, but Saturday they didn’t hit those standards. I will certainly take my time in considering my starting 11 on Tuesday night.

“Fergie did well when he came on but he can’t physically do three games in six days.

“Looking back now, hindsight says I got the team wrong. I should have made more changes. Hindsight is a wonderful thing, that’s why we have got social media to remind me of that. ‘I have to get it right for Tuesday now and Fergie certainly comes into the reckoning for Tuesday night.”
