Police searching for man who allegedly sexually assaulted girl before exposing himself

The British Transport Police (BTP) want to identify a man who allegedly sexually assaulted a girl on a train before exposing himself to her.

Officers investigating the sexual assault have released an image of a man they want to speak to in connection to the incident.

The assault happened at around 10.15pm on September 16, on board a train travelling between Wallington and Balham railway station.

A girl was sitting on the train with her friend when a man began talking to them. He then sexually assaulted her and later exposed himself to her.

A spokesman from the BTP said: “Detectives would like to speak to the man in the image who they believe may have information that could help their investigation.

“Anyone who recognises him is asked to contact British Transport Police by texting 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference number 744 of 16 September 2023.  Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
