Wimbledon forward named in EFL League Two Team of the Week

AFC Wimbledon striker Ali Al Hamadi has been named in the EFL WhoScored League Two Team of the Week for his performance in Saturday’s 4-2 win over Notts County.

The 21-year-old scored his seventh of the season in the 41st minute and doubled his tally late on in second-half added time to wrap up the six-goal thriller.

Iraqi international Al-Hamadi recorded a 9.4 rating after taking five shots, winning four tackles, completing three dribbles and making two key passes.

Only Paul Mullin recorded a higher rating – a 10 – from the League Two outings over the weekend.

“He can go all the way,” said Wimbledon boss Johnnie Jackson following the game.

“He’s a top player and at this level, he’s a shining light.

“He’s adding goals now. At the start of the season, he wasn’t scoring but playing like he was today.

“We knew that they would come because of the way that he plays and the way he goes about it.

“Top Performance – top lad – and I love working with him.”
