Rico Andrews: Second man charged with murder of 21-year-old shot to death

A second man has been charged with the murder of 21-year-old Rico Andrews.

Tyrone Attwood, 32, of no fixed address, was charged with murder yesterday, as well as one count of robbery, two counts of handling stolen goods and one count of theft of a motor vehicle.

He will appear in custody at Willesden Magistrates’ Court today.

Mr Attwood was arrested in Guildford, Surrey, on Saturday. A 27-year-old man and three women, aged 31, 33 and 38, were arrested on the same day on suspicion of assisting an offender.

They have been bailed pending further enquiries. 

Previously, Josh Eno, 23, of no fixed address, was charged with murder on October 27. He appeared in custody at Willesden Magistrates’ Court on October 28, and then at the Old Bailey on October 31.

He is next due to appear at the Old Bailey, on 16 January 2024.

A murder investigation was launched after police were called at around 9.50pm on October 5 to reports of gunshots heard in Shuttleworth Road, Wandsworth.

Officers and the London Ambulance Service attended.

At the scene, they found Mr Andrews suffering from a gunshot wound and immediately provided emergency first aid. Despite their efforts, he died at the scene.

A post-mortem examination gave the cause of death as a gunshot wound to the chest.

Police said his next of kin have been updated on the most recent developments.

Detective Chief Inspector Neil John, leading the investigation, said: “These arrests mark another significant development in our investigation, but I must reiterate that we still need help from the public.

“I continue to appeal to anyone who was in the area and saw events unfold, or anyone who has captured this incident on phone or doorbell footage, to contact police immediately.”
