Drug dealer jailed after three guns and kilo of cocaine found

A drug dealer has been jailed after police found three guns and a kilogram of cocaine at his home.

Shaun Bent, 39, of Brindley Street, Deptford, was arrested on July 4, 2023 after police carried out a search warrant at his property.

Officers found a rucksack that contained three pistols, each with 18 round magazines and 46 rounds of ammunition, 788g of cocaine as well as various drugs paraphernalia and £53,000 in cash.

Bent was charged with possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and three counts of possession of a prohibited firearm.

He was sentenced to a total of eight years in prison at Woolwich Crown Court on Monday.

Detective Inspector Lewis Sanderson said: “This case shows how drug dealing and violence go hand in hand. 

“Through successes like this, led by Lewisham officers, we can continue to show how we are keeping our community safe.”
