Wolves return for Charlton Athletic loanee

Charlton Athletic loanee Chem Campbell has returned to his parent club Wolves.

The 21-year-old joined on a season-long loan from the Premier League side but only made 16 appearances for the Addicks in all competitions.

Campbell recorded four goal involvements – two goals and two assists – during his spell at the Addicks.

He started the 2-1 defeat at home to Peterborough on the weekend but was taken off at half-time.

With Appleton looking to play two up top going forward, the formation switch could have further restricted Campbell’s game time.

Technical Director Andy Scott said: “We’d like to thank Chem for his contribution during his time at the club and his professionalism throughout.

“He hasn’t played as much as was initially anticipated and, with new players already in the building this January and more to come, it was felt that his loan with us finishing was best for all parties. We wish him all the best in his future career.”
