Dons boss wants key duo to sign contract extensions after committing his own future to the club

Johnnie Jackson says he has already had conversations with Omar Bugiel and Armani Little about signing new deals at AFC Wimbledon.

The duo both signed one-year deals last summer, with Little joining from Forest Green after spending the second half of last season on loan with the Dons.

Bugiel joined as a free transfer after leaving local rivals Sutton United in the summer.

Lebanon international Bugiel scored his sixth goal of the season in Wimbledon’s 2-0 win over Barrow on Saturday.

Little has made 27 appearances in League Two this season and captained the side on Saturday.

Jackson and assistant manager Terry Skiverton both signed new two-year deals this week.

“Yes, yes it is,” said Jackson when asked if getting the duo to commit for next season was Winbledon’s next aim.

“I have had some conversations with those lads underway already.

“I spoke about it already when I signed, that [signing a new deal], helps in those conversations.

“You don’t just recruit for the next window, it’s beyond as well.

“With January being over now and the squad being what it is for the rest of the season now, we have got short and long-term ambitions.

“We want to start next season with as strong a squad as we can.

“Those boys are very much a part of that and my thinking – that’s something we want to progress and get sorted sooner rather than later.”
