The South London Film Festival is back with a huge new line-up
The South London Film Festival (TSLFF) is back with an impressive line-up of more than 40 finalists including BAFTA Nominated and Oscar shortlisted films.
TSLFF 2024 will take place on March 2 and 3, Picturehouse Bromley in High Street, Bromley.
This year’s festival features 40 finalists, 10 honorable mentions, and 15 award-winning films, including the 2024 BAFTA Winning Best British Short, Jellyfish and Lobster, BAFTA Nominated and Oscar shortlisted short, Yellow, South London Film Festival Alumni and Oscar winner Riz Ahmed’s brand new short Dammi, Harry Holland’s Last Call, starring his brother Tom Holland and Lindsay Duncan, alongside an array of other movies.
Attendees can expect a thought-provoking screening of the Award Winning Short Films on Saturday, followed by a Q&A and networking session at the Picturehouse Bromley Bar.
The festival continues on Sunday, with a special screening of the Multi Award-winning feature film from Cyprus, Senior Citizen. The film follows the story of Theoharis, an elderly and lonely man, who finds solace in the hospital every evening, spending nights on the benches and chairs of the outpatients’ wing. Every morning he returns to his house, where his only companion is his cat and his memories.
In a bid to foster the future of the film industry, TSLFF has previously partnered with esteemed organizations such as Raindance, Backstage, Final Draft, The Mayor of London’s Borough of Culture and more.
This year TSLFF has also joined forces with London Live, BRIT School and Tooting Film Studios to provide opportunities for students and future creatives to get a head start in the industry.
The TSLFF has a rich history of recognizing outstanding talent, with previous awardees including Stormzy, Larry Lamb, Kano, and Riz Ahmed.
A number of films showcased at TSLFF have gone on to win awards at Raindance, BIFA, BAFTA, and even an Oscar at the Academy Awards (The Long Goodbye).
