Crystal Palace boss provides injury update on Eze and Guehi ahead of Tottenham clash
Oliver Glasner has confirmed that Eberechi Eze will return to the matchday squad for Crystal Palace’s Premier League clash at Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.
The 25-year-old attacker has been sidelined since picking up a hamstring injury in the 3-2 win over Sheffield United.
Eze has missed games against Brighton, Chelsea, Everton and Burnley, but returned to training at the back end of last week.
Greenwich-born England international Eze has eight goal contributions in all competitions.
Will Hughes has also been missing since the 3-1 defeat at home to Chelsea – Roy Hodgson’s final game in charge.
Joachim Andersen came off against Burnley with cramp.
“Fortunately they are all okay. Will and Ebs took part in all the training sessions this week, so they are back in the squad for tomorrow.
“It’s the same with Joachim. It was just at the 90th minute and 3-0 up, he felt it a little bit so it was just to avoid an injury – it’s good for us.
“Ebs is a great player for us. It’s also important that Will is back. He is an experienced player who gives us more opportunities in the game. Ebs can’t win the game for us alone, so he needs all his team-mates.
“I’m very happy with the week. We need all the players to succeed at Tottenham.”
Marc Guehi needed knee surgery this week after being unable to recover from the hyper-extended knee injury that he picked up against Brighton.
Glasner said: “Last week I hoped he could be in training with us this week, but his knee reacted in a way we didn’t like.
“He visited the doctor one more time. It was better to have the surgery. He’s doing well. He’s recovering, and we will support him as well as we can so he’s back with us, and we can have some games [with him] before the end of the season.”
