Nottingham Forest handed points deduction – with Crystal Palace up next

Nottingham Forest have been docked four points for breaching Premier League profit and sustainability rules – with Crystal Palace their first opponents after the international break.

Forest – now on 21 points – have dropped into the relegation zone in the Premier League due to the sanction, with Luton moving out of the bottom three.

Nuno Espírito Santo’s side admitted earlier this year to a breach of profit and sustainability rules, with the club exceeding the maximum permitted losses of £61 million.

The Reds are reportedly considering an appeal, which would need to be heard and concluded by April 15.

Everton were docked 10 points earlier in the season but were handed four back in February following an appeal.

The Blues are waiting on the outcome of another hearing over a second alleged breach later this month.

Oliver Glasner’s Palace side head to the City Ground on March 30, with the Eagles now eight points clear of Forest.
