Non-league round-up: Dulwich’s play-off hopes take blow after Kingstonian defeat

Dulwich Hamlet’s Isthmian League Premier Division play-off dreams took a blow on Wednesday evening after a 2-1 defeat to relegation-threatened Kingstonian.

Hakan Hayrettin’s side went behind after 18 minutes, with Eddie Dsane opening the scoring for the hosts at Tooting & Mitcham United’s Imperial Fields.

Nasim Regragui doubled the lead for Kingstonian five minutes before the end of the first half.

Dulwich, who were unbeaten in their last three matches, pulled one back through Luke Wanadio in the 59th minute.

The South Londoners piled the pressure on towards the end in their search for an equaliser and were awarded a penalty in the 87th minute after Kingstonian defender Essa Janneh was penalised for handball.

But Wanadio put his effort high and wide over the bar to dent Dulwich’s promotion hopes.

Tomorrow the Champion Hill-based outfit head to Bognor Regis Town, who are one point and position below Dulwich in the table.

Welling United climbed further away from the National League South drop zone on Tuesday night after a 1-1 draw at Hampton & Richmond Borough.

Sonny Fish gave the Wings the lead after 11 minutes but former Crystal Palace academy graduate Jake Grey equalised for the promotion-chasing hosts 13 minutes later.

“We were excellent tonight,” Stringer told Welling’s YouTube channel.

“They’re a really good side. We really played well and popped it about well.

“We were the better side and the second half we come out disappointed we haven’t won the game. We have been as good as we have been all season.”

The Wings are six points clear of danger and host mid-table Chippenham Town tomorrow.

Raynes Park Vale won 2-1 at home against Thatcham Town on Tuesday night.

Jordan Gallagher scored both their goals – the second a penalty in the third minute of second-half stoppage time – to secure maximum points in the Isthmian League South Central Division.

Cray Valley set the pace in the Isthmian League South East Division and hammered Beckenham 6-0 in midweek. Their scorers were Kyrell Lisbie (two), Adam Coombes, Matthew Vigor, Julien Anau and Marcel Barrington.
