Oliver Glasner confirms Crystal Palace will be without attacking duo for Nottingham Forest

Oliver Glasner has confirmed that Odsonne Edouard and Matheus Franca will be missing for Crystal Palace’s trip to Nottingham Forest.

Edouard suffered an injury during the mid-season training camp in Marbella and missed the 1-0 win over Bodo/Glimt.

The 26-year-old started the first game under Glasner – a 3-0 win over Burnley – but has been starting on the bench in the previous two games.

Brazilian attacker Franca picked up a groin injury before the 1-1 draw with Luton.

The 19-year-old picked up an assist and won a penalty in the win over Burnley.

“They’re not available,” said Glasner.

“Odsonne is already on the pitch now and working on his rehab.

“It was a strange situation because he was sliding as a striker in training and he pressed his knee into the ground.

“It’s not that serious and he could be back the week after next with the team.

“Matheus has a problem with his groin. It’s a little bit more difficult because when we increase the intensity of his training, he gets pain again.

“I cannot tell exactly when he will be back.”

Glasner took Justin Devenny, Franco Umeh, Danny Imray and Kaden Roney on the mid-season trip to Spain.

Roshaun Mathurin also scored in a 2-0 friendly win over Millwall during the international break. Glasner confirmed the former Tottenham youngster would be part of the squad for Saturday’s clash at the City Ground for the first time since joining the Eagles as a free agent in the summer.

“I was very impressed by them and also the players from the academy we took during the international break,” said Glasner.

“Roshaun will be with us tomorrow in the squad because he scored the second goal against Millwall and he deserves it.

“I liked how they showed up in Marbella. I told them, ‘Show your strengths – don’t worry about mistakes.’

“They showed what they can – they did it well.”
