A school Easter Egg hunt that led right to the top

Pupils and staff at a South Norwood Primary School celebrated in style before they broke up for their holidays with an all-school Easter-themed fun day.

Year 2 children enjoyed an Easter Egg Hunt with a difference, with clues leading them to various members of staff around the school who gave them another clue to follow.

Each clue finally led them to headteacher Melody Berthoud, who rewarded the children with an egg, donated by staff. Meanwhile, Year 3 enjoyed a trip to Brighton, accompanied by Miss Howard, in a bunny costume.

Each child at the school, in Crowther Road – which is part of the Pioneer Academy – was also entered into a raffle to win a large Easter egg and, as they left school for Easter, they were given an Easter egg as a gift from the PTA to take home.

Ms Berthoud said: “At South Norwood Primary, we wanted the whole community to have some fun ahead of Easter after a very busy and hard-working term for everyone.

“The children really enjoyed the Easter Egg hunt and all the staff were great sports taking part and getting into the spirit of the day.”
