Charlton striker Alfie May named in EFL’s League One Team of the Season
Charlton Athletic striker Alfie May was named in League One’s Team of the Season at the EFL Awards last night.
The Addicks frontman was the only player at any of our South London clubs to be selected.
May, 30, has scored 27 goals in all competitions this season, his first since signing from Cheltenham Town in the summer.
The rest of the League One side comprised players at the top end of the table with the likes of Portsmouth, Bolton Wanderers, Derby, Peterborough all featuring prominently.
May has spoken of his desire to win League One’s Golden Boot.
He is on 23 goals – three ahead of Portsmouth’s Colby Bishop.
Charlton have two matches remaining for May to add to his tally – at home to Shrewsbury on Saturday and then at Wycombe on April 27.
