Ryan Leonard “the obvious shout” to be named Millwall’s Player of the Year

George Saville reckons that Ryan Leonard is “the obvious shout” to be voted Millwall’s Player of the Year.

The Lions duo have both triggered contract extensions to stay at the club for next season.

Leonard’s efforts and performances for the South Londoners have not gone unnoticed.

“He is the obvious shout,” Saville told the South London Press. “He has stepped up. He’s not been able to play as much football as he’d have liked over the last couple of years but this year he has kept himself fit. He’s worked really hard – I’ve seen him work really hard.

“He has stepped up to the plate.

“He has been magnificent. I couldn’t speak any higher of Lenny – on or off the field.

“He’s a great lad to have around the football club.

“There is a lot of work that goes on, not just on a Saturday, and Lenny is really important to that.”
