Newcastle frontrunners to land free agent Fulham defender
Newcastle United are frontrunners to land Tosin Adarabioyo on a free transfer when his deal at Fulham expires this summer, the South London Press understands.
The 26-year-old will leave Craven Cottage this summer, with the extension the ex-Manchester City youngster signed in January coming to an end.
Adarabioyo joined the west Londoners in October 2020 and has made 132 appearances for the club in all competitions.
Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham have also all been linked with a move for the centre-back.
Adarabioyo has been missing for the past two Fulham outings.
Fulham boss Marco Silva admitted before his side’s goalless draw at Brentford that he expects the ex-Blackburn and West Brom loanee to leave the club this summer.
“Tosin has to be clear about his future when he decides to be clear about his future, and he has to talk about it,” said Silva.
“Of course we are here to try to prepare as best we can for the future of the football club.
“We haven’t hidden that situation that we try to renew with him, not just him but other players near the end of their contracts and it’s not been easy.
“Probably his future is not going to be at the club any more.”
