James Allen’s Girls’ School secure two gold medals
Athletes from James Allen’s Girls’ School secured two gold medals at the British Schools Modern Biathlon Championships at Crystal Palace Sports Centre.
Martha Warner was crowned U10 national champion.
The event consisted of both a swim and a run on the athletics track. Twelve athletes took part from the prep school, and nine from the senior school.
Sophia Sahai, Margaret Forster and Anna Forster (year six) worked together to all finish in the top 20 in a field of over 150 competitors in the U11s heat. Their combined times secured team gold.
Warner, Tallulah Silcock and Bonnie Shaw (U10s race) also claimed team gold.
Warner said: “I trained really hard over Christmas for the running and worked hard in Swim Squad at school. The day was really fun but I was a bit nervous. I was very excited to be U10 national champion.”
The U13 team of Ivanna Tymczyszyn, Trinity Shaw and Hannah Sawyer narrowly missed out on a bronze medal.
