Former AFC Wimbledon loanee talks through permanent MK switch
Former AFC Wimbledon loanee Connor Lemonheigh-Evans has talked through his decision to sign permanently for Milton Keynes after leaving Stockport.
Lemonheigh-Evans joined the Dons on loan on deadline day last September and became a key player under Johnnie Jackson.
He recorded five goal contributions in 17 outings for the Plough Lane-based side before being recalled by Stockport in the January window for the rest of the 2023-24 season.
The 27-year-old left League Two winners Stockport as a free agent at the end of the campaign and has penned a permanent deal with Milton Keynes.
“I’m really happy,” said Lemonheigh-Evans to Milton Keynes’ official website.
“I’m really excited to get going.
“I’m excited to see what the next couple of years will bring.
“The style of play is why I’m here and why I thought this would be the best place for me to come.
Lemonheigh-Evans picked up nine goal contributions for Stockport in the second half of the season as they won League Two four points clear of second-placed Wrexham.
“Them experiences make you want to go again and achieve them things again,” he added.
“Espiealcly with the end of the season that we [Stockport] have just had. I felt that I needed to go somewhere next where I would have the best opportunity of achieving that.
“I believe that being here will potentially give me the best opportunity of achieving another promotion.
“That’s why I’m here. It would be nice to do two in a row.”
