Get active this summer with these family friendly activities in Greenwich
Families in Greenwich will be able to take advantage of a fun-filled programme at their neighbourhood leisure centre this summer.
With a variety of activities to suit everyone – no matter what the weather’s doing – there are plenty of opportunities to banish boredom, let off steam, have fun and get active.
Every day this summer Family Fun Swims will be available at Waterfront Leisure Centre priced at £9.35 for adults and £6.80 for children with discounts available for residents.
Or, try out Padel – an intriguing mix of tennis and squash – at Coldharbour Leisure Centre any time between 9am and 8pm.
Over in Sutcliffe Park ‘Clip and Climb’ facilities will be open for the whole of summer, offering children aged over four a chance to safely scale a 10 metre wall.
Also at Sutcliffe Park, children can practice their cartwheels, handstands and gymnastic skills with a series of workshops in the hall. The space is also available throughout the summer for children to play for free with supervision from parents.
Richard Gallagher, GLL’s partnership manager in the Greenwich, said: “Health and wellbeing has never been more important in Greenwich. We are looking forward to welcoming local people to celebrate the Summer of Sport with us at our centres.
“Rain or shine, there’s something for every taste – and it all kicks off with our Open Days 20-21 July, where we invite kids and families to come along and try something new. You never know, you might discover a hidden talent or a new passion!”
