Lewisham teen charged with Tower Hamlets murder
A teenager from Lewisham is one of two to have been charged with the murder of Abdul Jalloh in Tower Hamlets, as police continue to appeal for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
Shomiah McKenzie, 18, was charged on Friday, along with Cody Godfrey, also 18, from the Isle of Dogs.
They were both also charged with possession of a Class C drug with intent to supply. McKenzie was also further charged with possession of an offensive weapon.
Both were remanded in custody to appear at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court.
Abdul Jalloh, 23, was fatally stabbed on the afternoon of Monday, August 5, in New Union Close.
His family were notified and continue to be supported by specialist officers.
A third male, a 16-year-old boy who was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, is currently released under investigation.
